Indian Hills' Glaudas Named Male Student-Athlete of the Year

Gaspar Glaudas of Indian Hills was named the 2023-24 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference's Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

Glaudas was a NJCAA Second Team All-American this season and was a runner-up at the 2024 NJCAA District Championship, while being the number one ranked golfer in the NJCAA via Clippd at various points during the season. He won four tournaments including a win at TPC Deere Run, a PGA course. His performance did not go unnoticed nationally. He was recognized as a part of the Ben Hogan Watch List which awards the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfers based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months. He was the only junior college player on the list. 

As a returning First-Team All-American from last year's Indian Hills' National Championship team, Glaudas continued her excellent two-year career for the Warriors. His awards include PING All-American First-Team honors, a three-time Golfer of the Month via SwingU Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), and earned a spot on the NJCAA All-District Team.

The once former walk-on international student-athlete is now committed to Stetson University for the fall.

"Gaspar has an undeniable talent and motivation to succeed on and off the golf course," said Tom Keck, President & Owner of The Club, Country Club. "He is a header, mentor, and team player and fosters a positive atmosphere for those around him."

Off the course, Glaudas was awarded First Team Academic All-Region and at one point was the Indian Hills Male Student-Athlete of the Month. He was also a member of Indian Hills Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a youth mentor at the local private country club in Ottumwa. 

"It was our hope at Indian Hills that when Gaspar's name appears on the PGA Tour website in a few short years, they would be able to mention that he was the 2024 ICCAC Male Student-Athlete of the Year," said Ricky Webster, Associate Athletic Director at Indian Hills.

Glaudas is the first-ever golfer to win Male or Female Student-Athlete of the Year since it began in 2017-18.
