Another Nail-Bitter in the Hills

Southwest Va CC pulled off another walk-off win over New River CC, 13-12, on Thursday. With the score tied in the seventh, Joachim's single brought home the game-winner. Rector had a monster night, hitting for the cycle and going 4-for-4, highlighted by a three-run homer in the third. Both teams traded blows, with big innings early and a late New River rally tying things before Southwest sealed it. Coley got the win, Spachman the save. Kilbourne, Heller, Irvin, and Joachim all had multi-hit games for Southwest, who also swiped five bases and turned a double play. Reece led New River with three hits and four RBIs.
