Indian Hills Takes Runner Up at Central District
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Garden City (Kan.) took home top honors at the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf Central District Championship, finishing at 22-over par as a team across three rounds at Tiffany Greens Golf Course in Kansas City. The Broncbusters were led by Oliver Crowley and Ilan Dufrenoy who each finished at 2-over for the tournament.
Indian Hills secured the runner-up spot at +29, earning an automatic berth to the NJCAA National Championship. The Warriors relied on steady play throughout the lineup, highlighted by three top-10 finishes: Emilio Arellano (+6, T-6), Nathan Pouchoulon (+6, T-6), and Roman Roth (+8, T-10). Charlie Preston added a T-12 finish at +9. The Warriors made a significant push in the second round, shooting a tournament best 2-over as a team -- solidifying their qualification position. It wasn't enough to over take Garden City's nine-shot lead after the first 36 holes.
Iowa Western, despite an eight-stroke improvement from day 1 to day 2, fell just short of automatic qualification, which went to the top four teams. The Reivers finished in a tie for fifth with Barton at +58, missing out on an automatic qualifying spot. Ethan Main was the team's low score, placing 21st with a 15-over-par total. Five Reivers finished between 21st and 23rd.
Hutchinson and Dodge City rounded out the top four team finishers, with Hutchinson closing at +34 for third and Dodge City climbing to fourth at +52.
For the ICCAC, as the postseason continues, Indian Hills will advance, while Iowa Western will await potential at-large consideration.
