Indian Hills Dominates to Win 2026 District Title
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Indian Hills won its 14th District Title in their Men's Golf history on Tuesday behind a dominant team performance. The Warriors bested the field with a three-round total of 841 (-23). Indian Hills golfers filled the top of the tournament with five inside the top 10 -- with the top three all being Warriors.
Charlie Preston, the third ranked NJCAA Division I men's golfer nationally according to Scoreboard, did what he has done all year -- dominated. Preston shot a 203 (-13), third-lowest 54-hole total in program history, across three rounds with scores of 68, 66, and 69. He led the entire field with 18 birdies. He bogeyed just five holes in the entire tournament.
Not too far behind Preston was Harry McArdle, who shot a 207 (-9) to place in second place. It was his fourth top 10 individual finish of the year. He tallied the second-most birdies on the week with 15.
Rounding out the top three was Miles Bollinger, who shot a solid 212 (-4) to secure third place. Bollinger climbed to third place with a 68 (-4) in the final round after finishing even par in the first two rounds. His 14 birdies were third-most in the tournament.
Other strong Indian Hills finishers were Nathan White and Freddie Surgey, who finished tied for fifth after putting together scores of 218 (+2)
Iowa Western finished in fourth place with a 907 (+43), highlighted by Ty Potter who ended his tournament with a 222 (+6). William Welsh (+12) and Sam Wells (+12) finished tied for 23rd for the Reivers, as well.
With the tournament title, Indian Hills automatically qualifies for the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship from May 12-15 at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan. Only the top three teams -- IHCC, Hutchinson and Garden City qualif automatically, leaving Iowa Western in need of an at-large bid to be admitted to the national tournament. There are eight at-large bids available.
