Indian Hills Sweeps Top ICCAC Awards for Men's Wrestling
The ICCAC announced the 2025-26 ICCAC Men's Wrestling Wrestler and Coach of the Year awards on Wednesday, with Indian Hills sweeping the honors.
The ICCAC Wrestler of the Year, as voted by the coaches following the North Central District Championships, was 149-pounder Jahkari Clark. Clark, a freshman from West Des Moines, Iowa, is ranked No. 2 in the country in his weight class. He is listed with a record of 25-4 on TrackWrestling, with three of those four losses coming to non-NJCAA opponents. His only loss against NJCAA competition this season came against Logan Crowther of Iowa Western -- who won via a 10-8 decesion back on Jan. 28.
At the North Central District Championships, Clark defeated No. 1 seed Matt Roche of Iowa Central in an 8-4 decision, the followed up with a 14-8 redemption victory over Crowther to win the district title.
Clark becomes the second wrestler in Indian Hills history to win the award, following up Riley Bettich who took the honor last season.
Coach of the Year was awarded to Cole Spree who led Indian Hills to their second striaght North Central District title and third all time. Additionally, the Warriors are ranked No. 1 in the country and are the reigning national champions. They ran through the 2025-26 ICCAC Dual Schedule unblemished, going a perfect 7-0, their second straight year of doing so after going 6-0 in 2024-25, and have won 16 straight ICCAC duals.
This is Spree's third time winning the award, and second year in a row. Previously he was named Coach of the Year in 2018-19 when he wqas at Ellsworth Community College.
