Match of the Week: Northeast def. Southeastern, 3-1
Northeast defeated Southeastern in a close match by a score of 3-1. This Northeast win means, in this matchup, the home team has not lost since 2018.
The first set was hard fought. The Hawks were able to pull away in the end by a score of 26-24. Southeastern answered right back in the second set with a 25-21 win. This four point win for Southeastern would be the win with the widest margin of the night. The next two sets were very close, but Northeast was able to Southeastern on their six hour drive home with back-to-back wins over the Blackhawks by scores of 29-27 and 26-24.
Northeast was led by Grace Robidoux with 10 kills, 3 aces, and 31 digs. Alli Brown and Baylee Settje were also crucial in forcing the Hawks into extra points three times, racking up double digit kills, with Brown gathering 11 and Settje with 10.
Northeast (3-2 conference) will host Iowa Lakes on Sept. 24 for a 6:30 p.m. matchup. Southeastern (4-1) will return to action Sept. 20 with a road match at in Quincy, IL against John Wood, starting at 12 p.m.
