2026 NJCAA Women's Wrestling Championship Results
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - Since women's wrestling began in 2023, Indian Hills has been at the top. The Warriors have won the last three NJCAA Women's Wrestling national championships and amassed nine individual champions during that span. In 2026, it was more of the same as the Warriors again finished on top and had two individual champions. Their 10 other All-Americans also led the rest of the field.
The Warriors won their fourth national championship this year with a team score of 229 points. They were led by head coach Darren Wynn, who claimed his second title at the helm.
Gabriela Avila Diaz won the 124-pound title, while Azreal Smith won the 235-pound title for the Warriors.
Diaz, the No. 1 seed in the 124-pound bracket, won her first-round match by fall in 0:49, then followed with technical falls in the second, third and fourth rounds before winning the final 6-0 for her first title and the first for the Warriors in that weight class. She did not allow a single point in any of her matches.
It was a different path for Smith, who had byes in the first three rounds and then battled through close matches the rest of the way. In the final, she defeated teammate Hannah Francis en route to her first title and the third for the Warriors at 235 pounds, with the most recent coming in 2024 from Eliana Bommarito.
Iowa Central placed third with 195 points and had one individual champion in Erica Pastoriza at 103 pounds. The Tritons also had nine other All-Americans in the lineup.
Pastoriza handled everyone who stepped onto the mat against her. She won each match with bonus-point victories until the final. The championship match was closer, but Pastoriza won 5-0 to secure the first title for both herself and the Tritons.
Iowa Western finished seventh with 129 points and had one individual champion in Ayana Fletcher at 145 pounds. The Reivers had six other All-Americans as well.
Fletcher, the No. 1 seed, cruised through her bracket. She won each match by either technical fall or fall until the final, where she posted a 9-0 decision to secure the first title for both herself and the Reivers.
Iowa Lakes finished eighth with 39.5 points and had its own individual champion in Keyahna Phillips at 180 pounds.
Phillips showed why she was the No. 1 seed. She won each round by fall and claimed her first title after pinning Paola Rodriguez in 1:03. Phillips became Iowa Lakes' first national champion.
Hawkeye finished 10th with 62.5 points, and Southeastern finished 14th with 39 points.
