2025 Special Awards and All-Region Announced for Division I Baseball
The 2025 Division I All-Region Baseball teams were officially announced on Thursday, with Iowa Western and Indian Hills splitting top honors while all three teams in the region placed multiple athletes on the First Team.
Leading the list of award winners was Iowa Western's Cooper Neville, who was named ICCAC Player of the Year. Neville led the conference with a .362 batting average and finished the year with 84 total hits, ranking 11th nationally. He also paced both the Reivers and the ICCAC with 55 runs scored, consistently setting the tone for Iowa Western's offense. Neville hit six homers and had 48 RBI upon release. On the basepaths, he's a menace, with 39 swiped bags total and 23 in conference play.
The Pitcher of the Year award was shared by Noah Scott of Iowa Western and Cole Huebner of Indian Hills—two right-handers who anchored their respective rotations with poise and power.
Scott led the Reivers with 71.2 innings pitched, tallying an ICCAC-best 82 strikeouts across 14 appearances. He posted a 4.02 ERA and an impressive 1.09 WHIP, allowing just 62 hits and 32 earned runs through the season.
Huebner, who shared the honor, was equally dominant for the Warriors. The sophomore threw 63.1 innings with a conference-best 3.98 ERA, giving up only 28 earned runs and striking out 81 batters on the year.
Also representing Indian Hills in the award column was AJ Marchetti, who earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Marchetti recorded an outstanding .996 fielding percentage, committing just one error all season. Behind the plate, he limited opponents to only 19 stolen bases over 32 conference games, showcasing elite defensive instincts and leadership.
Capping the list of special recognitions is Ryan Cougill, who was named ICCAC Coach of the Year after guiding Iowa Western to a second-straight Region 11 title and a 40-17 overall record (as of the end of the regional tournament). The Reivers advanced to the Midwest District with a spot in the NJCAA World Series on the line -- looking for their second-straight appearance and 20th all time.
In addition to Neville and Scott, Iowa Western placed three more players on the First Team: Drew Deremer, Charlie Kalbrener, and Nolan Geislinger, all of whom played key roles in the team's balanced and dangerous lineup.
Indian Hills also landed four total First Team selections, with Huebner and Marchetti joined by Kevin Ramos and Cale Clark, two consistent contributors who helped fuel the Warriors' success on both sides of the ball.
Southwestern was well-represented as well, earning three First Team nods: Alexander Arroyo, Jacob Angell, and Daniel Cepeda, each of whom stood out with strong individual performances throughout the season.
